Since its separation from Colombia in 1903, Panama has used the United States Dollar. These coins have the same specifications as the United States 5 Cents and circulated alongside it.

1961 minted in Mexico has different fonts for the lettering and the value than 1962-66 minted in the Royal Mint and later dates:
