This coin was minted in Brussels which was, after the Napoleonic Era, part of the new United Kingdom of the Netherlands in 1814.

"BELG" in Latin only means Lowlands, not necessarily specifically to Belgium.  At the time of his coronation in Brussels, Willem was crowned King of the United Netherlands, which included what is today Belgium and Luxembourg.

Belgium, with French interference, revolted and broke away from The Netherlands in 1830.

When Willem III passed in 1890, he had only one surviving child, a daughter Wilhelmina, who succeeded William to the Dutch throne. Meanwhile, being the last agnatic dynastic descendant of Otto I, Count of Nassau, the throne of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg passed to his patrilineal seventeenth cousin once removed (and matrilineal third cousin), Adolphe. This line was also separated by religious lines Netherlands being Protestant and Luxembourg being Catholic.
