Heyn Victorious at Matanzas. Silver. XF. 60.1 mm, 3 mm thick, 80.1 gm. Medal turn. Heyn's armored bust ¾ right in heavy ruff and five neck chains, Latin title Admiral of the United Netherlands. Reverse shows capture of Spanish ships, one sinking in the foreground, date of the battle, 1628 in exergue. A powerful portrait of this legendary Dutch naval hero focuses this medal on the man rather than solely on the event as do the earlier Betts numbers. No example was offered in Ford Part XIII but this medal was a highlight of the Lucien LaRiviere collection
