This medal was engraved on the occasion of the promotion of John Theodore of Bavaria to the cardinalate. In the month of March of the year 1746, Count Pallavicini arrived in Liège to return the bar to the prince-bishop.
The pectoral cross is a cross- shaped religious object worn by bishops. Suspended on the chest by a chain or a rope around the neck it is usually made of precious metal.
