The image was modified by the Central Engraving and Printing Plant; as a result, it differs slightly from the original photograph, and the number of players was reduced to eleven after the modification.

The small denomination numeral 500 on the bottom-left corner of the obverse side is printed in colour-shifting ink - changes between bronze, gold, and lime green:

On the reverse side, another denomination numeral on the top-left corner is also printed in colour-shifting ink with the same effect:

The large hologram strip on the right side of the obverse side contains circles, baseball bats, and repeated denominations 500. It changes colours and displays effects throughout a rainbow spectrum when the note is tilted:

Security thread:

Windowed into six segments on the obverse side, when the banknote is placed under a backlight, the inscription of denomination numeral “500” can be seen repeated throughout.

There is also holographic effect present in the security thread, oval shapes and denomination numeral 500's grow and shrink and change colours in a rainbow spectrum:

Issued as part of the Fifth series of the New Taiwan dollar by the Central Bank of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and was issued into general circulation on July 20, 2005. This is the upgraded issue with a holographic stripe and a change in background color to a darker shade of brown to avoid confusion with the 100 Yuan banknote.
The year of issue is given in the Chinese Republican calendar; year 93 corresponds to 2004 in the Gregorian calendar.
Official name of Taiwan is Republic of China. Denomination in Chinese is written as Yuan; officially in English it is New Taiwan Dollar.
