Goethe, Stützerbach'ın kuzeydoğusundaki Kickelhahn dağındaki "Goethehäuschen" kulübesinin önünde otururken. Sol metin kutusunda Goethe'nin Wandrers Nachtlied (1780) şiiri, sağ metin kutusunda Faust II'den bir alıntı.

Stützerbach, Lengwitz nehri boyunca bölünmüştür. Büyük batı kısmı Prusya'nın Saksonya Eyaleti'ne (Schleusingen Bölgesi), küçük doğu kısmı ise Saxe-Weimar/Thuringia'ya aitti. Her iki kısım da 1945 yılında birleşmiştir.
