Lisbon, the former capital of the Portuguese Maritime Empire, is the largest and most densely populated city in Portugal. Designed by Thierry Mordant (reputed French illustrator), this Euro Souvenir shows us three icons of the city: the Tower of Belém, the Castle of São Jorge and the Cathedral of Lisbon (already present in other notes). It is also the headquarters of various organizations and the like: the presidency, the Assembly of the Republic, SL Benfica, Sporting CP, three universities (ULisboa, Nova and UTL), the Coach Museum, Banco de Portugal, the Oceanário, etc.
In 2018, Lisbon was awarded the World Travel Awards for “Best Destination City” and “Best City Break Destination”, which confirmed the excellent tourist moment in the Portuguese capital.
