Henry III of Castile grants Jean de Béthencourt monetary power. So he countermarked coins with a gothic “B” (Béthencourt initial) , to be used in San Marcial del Rubicón, Lanzarote. San Marcial was the first European city founded in canary islands.
The coins found at the archeological site are from Henry II and Henry III.
