Chekiang (also spelled Zhejiang) is a province on China’s eastern coast. In the Republican era (1912–1949), local and provincial banks issued their own paper money alongside national currency to facilitate commerce and meet local monetary needs.
There were several issues: 1932 (10 & 20 cents, 1, 5 and 10 Yuan). 1936 (10, 20, 50 cents). 1938 First Issue (1, 2, 5 Fen). 1938 Second Issue (1, 2, 5 cents). 1939 (1 yuan), and 1941 (1 yuan).
