The coin was minted to commemorate the deepest treasure recovery in history. Coin is layered in genuine recovered silver with an antique finish.
S.S. City of Cairo lies at a depth of 17,000 feet (5150 m) below sea level. In 1942, with 122 tonnes of Indian Silver Rupees in her hold, the ship was torpedoed by a German submarine and laid there for nearly 71 years.
