(fr) L'empereur Charles Quint accorda le 8 mai 1534 le droit à sa ville natale de battre monnaie à condition que son effigie y apparaisse. Après sa mort, le 24 février 1558, ces monnaies présentant le portrait de l'empereur continueront à être battues à titre posthume pendant une quarantaine d'années.
