Esterlin of English type, undated, struck at the beginning of Jean l'Aveugle's reign at the workshop of Méraude (Poilvache). Apart from the English type, the workshop of Méraude mimics in this period especially currencies sought in Brabant, Liège and Namur.

The present type has a patted cross at the beginning of the legend, against the type L#76-1, W#77, BV#73 which has an anchored cross starts from legend [and thus imitates directly the pieces of Antoine Baeck (Antony Bek) Bishop of Durham]

Of the pieces listed by Weiller, a large portion (16) come from the B.146 treasure, discovered in 1967 in Kirial, Denmark.

The average weight of 39 pieces was 1.1 g. (Weiller)
Extreme weight: 0.63 g (sale) and 1.35 g. (BV)

Variants: Probst does not mention any variant. Bernays and Vannerus indicate that there are several insignificant variants without giving more details.
Weiller identifies 5 legends for the right and 4 legends for the reverse.

Obverse:
a. +IOhΛES DЄI GRΛ REX B (A without bar, 2nd E round)
_. +IOhΛES DЄI GRA REX B (A with barre, not considered variant by Weiller)

b. +IOhΛES• DЄI• GRΛ• REX• B
c. +IOhΛES DEI GRΛ REX B (2nd E angular)
d. +IOhΛES DЄI GRΛ REX B' (apostrophe after the legend)
