Abstract

In 2017, more than one hundred seals with images of saints and crosses of various kinds were published in the third volume of the Rus, Lithuania, Horde series. A year later, in the fifth volume, a new publication appeared featuring 121 seals with images of princely signs and letters. They originated from 31 settlements located within the modern boundaries of ten southwestern districts of the Bryansk region of Russia – the historical northwestern part of Chernihiv land. This last publication presents seals of various types and sizes with images of saints on both sides or in combination with a Cyrillic legend unearthed in the same area.
