İmparator Domitianus II

Abstract

The second known coin of the Gallic usurper Domitianus (i.e. Domitian II) has come to light in a recent UK treasure case examined at the British Museum. A superb example, it is die-identical to the Cléons (Loire- Atlantique) find of 1900. An extremely rare numismatic discovery, the Oxfordshire Domitianus is moreover of great historical importance, as it corroborates the evidence of the previously unique coin.
