Description

This 6 coin Fine Silver Proof Set was issued by the RAM in 2003.

Three of the six coins in the set, the 5c, 10c & $2, are based on the standard circulation coins issued by the RAM in 2003. The other three, 20c, 50c & $1 coins, are based on commemorative coins issued by the RAM into circulation in 2003.

The year 2003 saw the Royal Australian Mint consult with the peak volunteering body, Volunteers Australia to design a set of coins celebrating the contribution of more than 4 million volunteers. The three commemorative coins in this NCLT Fine Silver (.999) Proof Set celebrate Australia's Volunteers. This set was the very first Six Coin Fine Silver Proof Set.

Coins were issued in individual capsules, then placed in slots in a Western Australian Jarrah wood presentation box, then in an outside cardboard slipcase.
