I have sent many coins around the world but I feel that it is quite difficult to send coins to India. I currently have a trade that I need to complete by sending to India. I've heard that the Indian customs are very strict with their parcels and check very throughly. I would like to know if any one has sent any coins to India without any hassle.
I've changed quite around 20 times with Indian individuals without problems besides what I mention below.
I always use registered mail with signature at the recption. Only once did I have a problem, but I'm not so sure it was with the Indian postal service, the wife signed for receiving the letter, so for me it was OK; then a couple of days later, my swap partner from India sent me a mail with a photo of a broken letter not containing anything! Since I didn't receive anthing at all, it was just a bad experience with maybe a dishonest person.
I think it also depends on your service. I ship regularly and I have never had a problem, Indian postal services are responsible and honest.
The speed is always the same for about 20 days. This is the last one from the end of December, so I'll judge- for your imagination.
from us to Prague the next day: Prague (Czech Republic) -Kolkata - (West Bengal India)
( There should be a list somewhere where it works and vice versa where they always open the shipment and steal every second one is lost)
But India is really responsible!
,,I forgot to add that I will always write "Hobby material" on the envelope.
it always went through the package in hard paper and bubble wrap,,

Yes sent to India, When you look at the time and place and the sequence of customs procedures - the process is always the same , and I send it quite often. If you are interested in metal - then all kinds of metals and all years from -450 BC to 2020.
However, it is irrelevant because the customs service never opened it and questioned it.
But Marfi's law says, "Something can always happen, and so it will happen,"
,,It is destiny, and I say to me, India is safe and, conversely, Kosovo, and I would not send all such would-be republics and dubious nations to a single mother-in-law.,,
