southerbelle again/ the wheat penny

as i was checking out at our wonderful neighborhood walmart, i noticed my change in the dispenser was only a penny. as im rushing, hot, hand full and annoyed ,,,i turned my check and headed towards the door. i stopped, turned around and went back to get that one penny. i throw my bags in car, hopped in and opened my hand to see this penny. at first i thought is was some kind of "token" then my other said" well hell, looks like you found a wheat penny. after some research and more research it seems my penny is worth alot of money. im not taking it to any one in the country to sell and im not fool. any advice on what to do,,,now remember. i live in Louisiana/texas and there are many many crooks and sly people here.

Without pictures of both sides, we can't really say much. It is unlikely your penny is actually rare, but it is possible.

About 25 years ago, someone in Quebec City got a 1943 bronze penny in his change...
