effects of the pandemic on postal services

What are the experiences in each state with the post office? I was already disappointed that the shipment was lost.
And an explanation - In stock in the Queens neighborhood of New York City -there lies everything in the bags for three weeks.
and now, he's going to Arizona at the other end smoothly ( What is your experience - I think states protect themselves by killing the virus by letting it rest)

I have just received a package in Virginia from Ukraine. It was sent on February 17, got to NY distribution center on February 24, delivered on February 27.

Everything worked well and quite fast.

I have had mixed results, but have not really received enough packages to see any patterns. Some stuff has made it from Europe in a week to 10 days. Other stuff has taken months. A package from Russia took 3 months for example. I have heard packages out of Israel took extended periods and the one I have had took 2 months. But, the 5-6 I have received from England were all a week to 10 days. For reference I'm in North Carolina in the US.

This has been discussed so, so, so many times on Numista:

In "SWAPS" as "Trading during COVID19 crisis" (March - June 2020). This is the best post b/c it was the longest with contributions from several areas.

Here on sending coins from Italy/France to US & shipping issues (June 2020)

Again in "SWAPS" in (June-July 2020) & in July over sending to Italy.

And then I started this thread "Suspending International Mail" last month here in "Free Discussion," b/c it was about eBay seller policy. And back in "SWAPS" re: "Issues with Canada Post" [Though technically these 2 threads could easily be merged since they're basically on same topic of postal issues due to pandemic].

(& the 6 threads are just ones I've contributed to/found so there's probably more!)

So just a friendly reminder to PLEASE search the forum to see if a topic has been discussed & to add to that topic rather than create dozens of duplicate topics. This would help Xavier & the kind moderators who contribute to this site. THANKS

There are dozens of other posts to which it can be sewn, but don't take it so seriously just because I pointed it out . I'm just saying that if I send coins overseas, I'm happy when they are found. And also it has some vivoj and as you can see it is not the same but it varies from state to state.
So please the same options for you. I wish you good health and a wish for joy in sharing our hobby.

Knew you'd be a good sport about it!

Ive had a lot of issues with my mail carrier, skips days, shows up on Sundays, holidays, weird person, always complain about my coins envelopes. It has takes me on average 6 to 30 days mail transport during the peak.

The US post office is run by incredibly stupid people.
This is always the case when you have a government supported monopoly (think Fascism.)
For a while I was able to ship flat padded envelopes for about $3.50.

Then I got this notice...


So I took my stack of rejected mailings home, opened them, inserted a styrofoam peanut, resealed them and took them back to the post office for approval.
While they were accepted, the little girl behind the counter couldn't scoop them up with both her arms.
So I went home and made her a training poster.



I have yet to hear a word of gratitude.

​While I absolutely agree on your first claim, the other is problematic: worldwide postal services used to be cheap (and fast!) when posts were "state monopoly". Once private companies entered the game, we - the customers - became the game!
