Sharjah, Arab Postal Union, set; Jordan, Arab Postal Union, set; Jordan, World Tourism, souvenir sheet; North Yemen, Arab Cooperation, set; North Yemen, Arab Medical Specializations, set; North Yemen, ICAO, set; Caicos Islands, ICAO, set and souvenir sheet; Qatar, OPEC, set; Colombia, Lions Intl, single; Ecuador, Lions Intl, souvenir sheet; Iraq, ICATU-CISA, single

Question: Royalists during the Civil War in Yemen at times issued provisional stamps with overprints where the only difference in individual stamps was the color of the overprint. These stamps had printings as low as how many stamps?

Winner will be response with exact number if received at or before 10 PM, October 24, 2021, eastern US time. If exact number is not received, winner will be closest number received by same deadline. Multiple entries by single participant permitted. My decision of winner will be final.

Good luck to those who choose to participate! I probably won't comment before the deadline unless someone responds with the actual number.

It's probably because English isn't my native language, but I don't understand the question... z|
They say "Pecunia non olet", but I know better...
Maybe as low as 40?

No new swaps for the moment, still too many half-ongoing swaps to clean up!

smvdbrink, There were provisional stamps issued with overprints of different colors on otherwise identical stamps. For example one basic stamp might have a red overprint and the next otherwise identical stamp might have a violet overprint. So the only difference between stamps is the color of the overprint. The question is how many or how few of a particular color or colors were printed (being the lowest number, say 152 of red and 152 of violet and 248 of green, the answer would be 152, since that would be the number of the red and violet and 248 of green would be too high). I hope that helps.

I must admit defeat.

Bram is our winner! Congratulations! He came amazingly close to the actual figure I found, 44.

Your stamps will be on the way tomorrow.

And everyone keep watching for next giveaway and consider participating.

Yeah! That's indeed a lucky guess, though I did do some thinking as to the amount of stamps on one sheet ...

Thanks Will, let the fun continue :wiz:

Of which colour?
Najuk
Najuk, I don't know if it was one color or multiple colors. All my source said was "very small printings of 44 in some cases"
