Hello, I recently got this Notgeld collection from my relatives.
They found it in the attic after they bought a new house.
Apparently there were a lot more boxes with coins but construction workers that helped renovating threw them all away.
The few coins that were in this one seem to be mostly. normal change

Anyway, you must decide. I am not a banknote collector at all, but should I still look through this collection?
Could there be anything interesting/valuable?

anything is possible.
To find out if something valuable inside you need to check.

I am posting a picture from a big parking deck with closed front and some low value cars parking in front. Is it possible that cars inside the deck are valuable?

Thats true, I think I will do it if I find the time
I love the pictures on these. As far as I know most notegeld doesn't have high value but they're a great witness to the time and who knows, there might be something rare in there. If you don't need it you can always swap it, I'm sure there'd be interest.
I collect and deal in ancient Roman coin. In case you're looking for affordable ancient coins or need any help with the coins you already have send me a message.

really?
I do not collect banknotes. But I got a lot of notgeld banknotes in past. Sometimes I bought/buy whole collections - in germany mostly together with some Notgeld banknotes.

Update:
I am currently looking through these and I have noticed that most of them are not on Numista.
I will start adding them now, this probably will be a long process.
I love this website and now that I can I will contribute to it as much as possible.

I don't collect banknotes either so I'm just guessing since everything collectable can have something rare, even extremely common communist Yugoslav dinars have some rare or error issues. As for swap interest I'm sure many members consider notegeld cool and would like to swap for it, I know I would. :D

I have just come across this forum page, and wish I had seen it earlier.
German Notgeld banknotes are a great collectable area, as there are many, many issuers, with face values from less than 1 Pfennig to Billions of Mark.

The variety of subjects/themes is staggering, and the designs are magical, considering the lower values banknotes were swallowed up by inflation as they were issued.

At this time, I have 2,280 different German Notgeld banknotes from 728 different issuers, but none are listed on Numista, as I keep the Numista website for coins.

I wish someone had left a collection like this to me. Sorted them out and cataloguing them is more interesting than actually owning them, but only just.

Austria also issued Notgeld, but the face value of them is mostly in Heller. There are also a few other countries that issued them, but they are rarer.

I wish you the very best of luck with the sorting. If you cannot find the catalogue number of any of them, then post photographs and I will see if I can help you
I'm just a collector of coins, not a slave to it, unless I am in a coin shop.
For all you banknote collectors. Link to my swap list.
