Countries with Kings/Queens of Britain on their coins

How many different collectible countries have the portrait of a King or Queen of Britain on their coins? I just found one reference that says QE II alone is on around 53 nations coins. What about Edward, George III, IV, V, ?  I would like to collect as many types, from as many countries, that have these portraits on their coinage. I already have Canada, Australia, Jamaica, GB, NZ, and other obvious ones. But how many more are there that you can name?

Forgot to mention also countries with Queen Victoria, probably my favorite design followed by countries with George V and George III

I worked it out a few months ago - will see if I can find the Topic ...

Here it is - I looked up for Elizabeth II in my reply Posted: 17-Jan-2012, 08:26PM

There are about 46 countries I listed. May be more going in back in time for previous rulers.

I see your list with Queen Elizabeth, and most of those also will likely have some of the previous rulers. But I am looking for some of the older and less common ones also, preferably not only Elizabeth II as those will be modern and I prefer older coins pre WWII.. A good example would be Prince Edward Island had only one coin I beleive with a monarch. It was an 1871 one cent with a young Queen Victoria, as did New Brunswick, Newfoundland, etc. Beautiful coinage, I have a few of those already.

An interesting topic, Harry, and I share you enthusiasm about Victorian coinage so I did a search on the Numista database and it came up with 214 coins for Victoria:
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?r=&c=&cc=y&cn=y&cj=y&ce=y&cu=y&cat=y&mode=avance&p=1&e=&d=&km=&i=Victoria&v=&m=&a=&t=&dg=&w=&g=
There may be more coins and territories than those listed since the link above is merely a search on those coins entered into the Numista database :°
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.

I'm trying not to duplicate any on the list. Straits Settlement, India British, East India Co. ...

radrick007; Thanks, I also have a passion for the Victorian era coinage.. I found some good ones on that search list I hadn't thought of; Ceylon, Cyprus, Gibraltar have some really nice Victorians.

torontokuba; Not a problem - throw out what ever countries you can think of, it might jog our memory.

Mark240590;  :D I'm still waiting for you to put some on your exchange list  :°

Thank you Mark240590. I've been searching for this. Is your list already complete?
I have alot of the coins from these places and more, some I hadn't listed, there is quite a few! Some are only NCLT (non-circulating legal tender) places like Tokelau do the dollar/tala which is an interesting one having the queens portrait on the obverse but no legend because they recognise her as head of state but not their queen :)
Many Princely states have both heads of states, whether it be the Mughal emperor or the British king.

Mark, I think you left out Hanover and Brunswick-Luneburg. :O

Haha - knew I would forget an obvious one !
Bahawalpur has a crude portrait of QV on the rupee.
Only the Fiji coins up to 2011 have the Queen. Since they were booted out of the commonwealth they now have animals on the obverse.
Yeah, they continued to use her coinage though for a while after the ban which I find odd. I guess they'll always be welcome back as a realm when they do host free elections ! Same as any other member.similar to what South Africa did after their prolonged absence :)
There's elections scheduled for next year, whether they'll be fair or not is another story.  When you've had a dictator in power for a while the elections are usually dubious at best a la Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe.
Hi Harry 213
I see we collect the same early coins --here are some of mine and always looking for more

Nice to see ya back mate.
Nice to be back, and good to see you are still around.

I have mostly just been stopping in here on occasion to reference and update my online coin catalog. Numista has proven to be an indispensable tool for that. Aside from creating my own spreadsheet database, I have not found a better or more efficient way to track my collection.

Trying to catch up on the forum now, and I see I have missed out on a lot.  :8D

I have not been interested in doing any swapping, just finding it quite difficult to find many of the coins I truly need or even want through swapping. I found it easier and sometimes cheaper to just buy what I need. I've actually resorted to selling off most of my unwanted world coins in order to raise the funds for my purchases.

I will only be keeping my U.S., Canada, Great Britain and a few other related countries.

Shoot me a PM if you'd like to catch up further.
