 A normal UK 1 Penny 1948 that someone has privately plated. 

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins

 I have this UK ¼ Penny 1901 that was similarly plated. 

Not sure if this is plated in gold, or if yours is plated in silver.

Hi,ZacUK,for sure your farthing coin is gold plated,lots of base metal coins from all over the World were plated in gold or silver in the past times. That, in order to fool not-informed buyers on the type & metal currencies have OR,sometimes,as gift presents in some ocasions(birth of a child,anniversaries,etc.)
