Hi! Just want to introduce myself. I am new at Numista, and new at organizing and identifying my coins.

My grandfather started our coin collection with some coins from Newfoundland and some older Canadian coins. He passed the collection down to my father, who added more coins, who passed it down to me, who expanded the collection. I am not sure how many coins I currently have, but I guess I will find out once they're all entered!

If you have any tips or advice for someone who is basically just starting out, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Crewe

Hello, welcome aboard !

One interesting question when you begin is how to manage your collection.

I have a tonne of US coins :) I've just only entered my US Dollar coins, most of my foreign (I have about 13 foreign left to enter that are in English, and a bunch that I have to get translated because they are written in a different alphabet/characters lol), my Newfoundland coins, and a tiny percentage of my Canadian. I have so many >< It is going to take a while to enter them all, but it is so fun doing it! I think I have entered all my Exonumia, and I haven't entered any bills, yet.

I agree, I really enjoyed cataloging my collection when I joined a few months ago too.

Well…banknotes suck. LOL HOW DO I FIGURE THEM OUT?!

well if you don't know what country it is from you can either post pictures of them in the banknote identification forum or what you could do is do a photo search on the banknote tab
