Hi,

believe this coin may be ancient Indian, but cannot seem to find an image match on the catalogue.

anyone out there able to help ?

size - 20mm x 5mm thick

appearance - copper / brass

many thanks

This is a copper coin of Gwalior, probably struck at the Lashkar mint during the reign of Jayaji Rao Sindhia (AD 1843-1886). It bears the “frozen” regnal year 23. See Coins of the Sindhias by Jan Lingen and Kenneth Wiggins, Hawkins Publications, 1978.
