Hammered Ottoman 14th or 15 Century

Hello everyone,

So a while back I bought a bunch of world coins and found the mentioned coin. I only found out about it as Stacks and Bowers has set up shop in Boston and I went there to inquire on this coin. The gentlemen was certain it is hammered silver and from ottoman Empire. I asked if approximately 14th or 15th century, having read some about Vlad the Impaler, I was curious. He said probably around then however they did not date their coins.

So I am hoping if anyone has any information maybe not finding the exact date but some sort of reference so i can have an idea on the date range this coin comes from.

Thanks,

BTH

I guess the diameter and weight will be important to help your find.

Could be mongol too, I see the number “٨”

I am guessing 17mm? I do not have a scale, or I would weigh it.

Each block is 5mmx5mm, so best I can come up with.
