Kind regards.

I created a new month and deleted it in the old one and didn't even realize I was getting old.

The grandchildren returned an hour ago from their last summer holiday visit to the ZOO - the holidays are over - school is about to start.

But this ZOO of ours is special - all the animals are made from old scrap that is disposed of there.

At the same time, a vintage car event is taking place there- and this token is a reminder of the vintage car.

All the animals are from old junk:

Surely no one has met the token and I was pleased that it was another nonsense for the collection, maybe in a thousand years someone will wonder what kind of animals lived there.

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins

I made a somewhat accidental purchase today 😄

I was looking through a box of coins, and found a heavily worn out piece of exonumia. As the sun was shining and reflecting off the shiny coins, I read the inscription on the coin wrong, thinking it said ‘Butmir’. I bought it, because Butmir is a famous neolithic site in Bosnia (and also an inside joke of me and my friends). I couldn’t wait to research its history.

As I came home and wanted to add the token to numista, I realized it didn’t say ‘Butmir’ at all! It said ‘putnik’. But who cares, I have a new piece of exonumia now.

I would like to say I have added some tokens this month, but nothing near as nice as what has been posted lately. I have been working on reference books on USA trade tokens. I have added several this month and thought I would share that. Currently I now have a book for the following:

(Canada)

Alberta

Yukon

(USA)

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia, Washington D.C., West Virginia, Wyoming.

I love books. That is an amazing collection!

I recently found this, which has been fascinating,

but it does appear I need a 1984 edition.

I have the 1977, 1980, 1981 editions of that book. I knew it went to 1982, I have tried a couple of times to purchase it online, that is how I got the 1980 and 1977 editions. Gave up after those failed attempts. I did not know it went up to 1984.

1982, I meant to say.

Here's a new item, I'm just preparing to add to the catalog.

30mm, 10g, 999 silver.

Produced apparently by “MintAmerica”. there i a tiny privy mark, after the date but I can't make it out.

I havent been able to learn anything about the company, or this medal.

I havent been able to learn anything about the company, or this medal.

I have not found out much about them, MintAmerica, but they advertised often in Coin World in 1973. The company was from Miami, Florida from 1973 to 1976. Found an advertisement in Sports Illustrated too.

I think that when the October forum of this has begun,  it should be in the Free Discussion forum just like coins is. I think it will get more traffic and possibly bring others into it.

Just a thought.
