merge issuing banks?

In Sri Lanka we have the Central Bank of Sri Lanka

However till 1985 the Bank was called Central Bank of Ceylon, so same institution but different name

So should both entities be merged to one? Central Bank of Ceylon/Sri Lanka (1950-current)

Or kept separate? Ceylon (28 August 1950 - 31 December 1985) and Sri Lanka (1 January 1986 - current), to coincide with the text on the notes (even though it was the same bank)

Since Ceylon and Sri Lanka should not have been merged in the first place, merging the central banks either side of the name change (which did not coincide with the change in the country's name) will just make things a little worse. That said, Sri Lanka is such a mess that few will probably notice.

Didn't plan to reopen that discussion, but splitting an institution just because it changed it's name does sound weird.

And yes, I've been making some edits in Srilanka/Ceylon, but still a lot to do.

Perhaps not but the same principle applies. Names matter.

When changing name, we create new Bank (but have a way in DB to link them together).
