Numista has the “Park” tag for “Garden, nature park, etc.” (see https://en.numista.com/forum/topic140933.html), but this is also incorrectly used for amusement park and similar.

At beginning I thought in this tag:

  • Name:
    • (EN) Attraction
    • (FR) Attraction
    • (ES) Atracción
  • Parent tag: Buildings, or Places
  • Description
    • (EN) Fairgrounds, amusement park, etc.
    • (FR) Champ de foire, parc d'attractions, etc.
    • (ES) Recinto ferial, parque de atracciones, etc.

but it can be extend to other performance venues:

  • Name: some possibilities…
    • (EN) Entertainment venue / Recreation and entertainment venue / Performance venue
    • (FR) Lieu de divertissement / Lieu de loisirs et de divertissement / Lieu de spectacle (French by Google Translate)
    • (ES) Lugar de entretenimiento / Lugar de ocio y entretenimiento / Recinto de espectáculos
  • Parent tag: Buildings, or Places
  • Description

For example, among the pieces of exonumia with this tag there are enough with amusement parks or zoos, not gardens or nature parks:

Among the coins with this tag there are these:

If this new tag is created, the Numista Robot can be replace the “Park” tag with the new using filters like my previous examples.

What is a “Performance venue”?

What is a “Performance venue”?

I am sorry, my English is not very good. I found this expression thanks to Google Translate and WordReference, and I found results on Google.

Performance venue = Place where a show is made

But it may be wrong, or not used often in English, I do not know. To suggest another word, or comment on the new tag, please go to https://en.numista.com/forum/topic141098.html

Your English is fine. I just associate things like theaters, concerts, etc. with performance venues.

So this new tag is for Fairgrounds, amusement park, circus, zoological garden, etc. Why under Buildings and not under Places? Recreation and entertainment venues may be a better English title.

Buildings or places are valid both, of course. Depending on what it include, can be a building or a place.

About the English name, maybe “Recreation and entertainment venues” is too large… what do you think about “Entertainment venues”? I will add these options to my first message.

We must keep in mind that the name of this tag must represent any type of place where people go to entertain themselves, it can be outdoors (e.g. fairgrounds, amusement park, zoological garden) or inside a building (e.g. circus, theatre, cinema), except places like “museum” or “sport venue” (we have tags about this).

I expect this approach is not too general.
