Question about 'Comment' section links to other pages [solved]

Hiya,

I just have a question about the guidelines with regards to adding links to other coin pages within Numista in the comments section (such as adding a link to a silver proof version of a coin, etc.).

What should be linked and what should not?

Sometimes I see links to all coins in circulation minted at the same time (1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, etc.), other times I see just a link to a silver or gold or coloured version, sometimes I see nothing at all.

I also sometimes see links to other coins minted at the same time, but also the silver proof versions of those coins.

Just wondering what is appropriate.

Regards.

Do you mean the comment or the See also section?
The ‘see also’ section is generally for issues that could easily be confused for another or can't be linked any other way.
Using them to list a series or an issue set should not be done, that's what the series field is for and you can link design or historically relevant pages in the comment section.

Hi!

Here the guidelines:  https://en.numista.com/help/links-134.html

Indeed they are not respected everywhere! ;-)

Sometimes too many links (notably because see also links are used instead of series for instance), sometimes missing links…

[Idolenz said it all at the same time ^^]

Hi!

Here the guidelines:  https://en.numista.com/help/links-134.html

Ah thank you! I completely missed this page when searching through the guidelines!

Thank you both!
