Hi All! The detail on this coin is reasonably sharp, but both sides are covered by pin-prick-sized black dots, like tiny "freckles" (these are the dealer's photos, and lights may have been used, so the dots are much lighter. Photos used with permission). I don't think they are carbon spots, but perhaps this is caused by oil on the dies? Some lustre hides behind all this. A small section of the reverse rim has excess metal (seen at the bottom right as two small lighter areas), reinforcing the idea that something has gone awry in the minting process. For anyone who may know more, I invite them to share their knowledge, which I would appreciate. Thanks, AY

The coin is copper-nickel, weighs 4.4g, and is 22.48 mm in diameter.
