Coin from Philippines

Hello,

    I have purchased today a coin of 25 sentimos from Philippines, 1990. When I tried to catalogue it I discovered that it exists only made of brass:

while mine seems to be of stainless steel:

 

 

 

the same material of this 1 piso coin:

 

N#4167

 

Did I purchase a false coin (given that someone would bother to make a worthless false coin)? If someone has a clue, please let me know.

My 1983 25 Sentimo coin is definitely not stainless steel.  Is yours magnetic?

I also think plated. You see some brass colour in the rim.

Hello,

    thanks for the answers. I have checked: the coin is not magnetic and diameter is exactly 21 mm. It seems it could be plated, but in this case do you think that plating has been done by the mint or who else?

 

Today I'll check the rim under a magnifying glass to see if brass can be seen.

It will take too long if we go through one person at a time so I'll speed it up: Not me, not my wife, not my mother, and neither of my grandsons. (I'm suspicious of a couple other members of my family.)
