Saving a coin

Any one have any ideas on how to make this coin not so atrocious? open to any ideas since it cost me 25 cents lol

more info: I bought this piece from a serial coin cleaner and would love to make it look a little less terrible.

As a purist It looks beautiful just the way it is to me. Eye of the beholder and all.  Although circulated, It looks to be well preserved as is for it's age and I would just leave it alone .  I think you should simply put it in a flip or coin capsule to keep it that way. 

Oh to clarify I don’t believe in coin cleaning, however, although the photos don‘t convey it well the coin unfortunately appears to already be cleaned, and has a residue. My Original inquiry was meant to be about ethically removing that residue. However now I am having my doubts on whether the piece is even real and will be weighing it soon.Thanks for the reply!

I compared it visually to known examples and I believe it to be genuine. Acetone is safe and may remove the residue you want to remove.

Keep it on a velvet tray for a couple of years, turning periodically. Patina will come back

Very good old 10 cash most likely from admiral gardiner shipwreck the coin after 4-5 years will become old again
