Hi all, I'm looking for some help, according to the site the 1911 china empire 2 Jiao should weigh 5.4 grams, my example weighs 4.9 grams, by the wear on my example, is this within mint variance? Thanks for any help

9.3% underweight is not within mint variance even with that wear. Have you tried to see if it's magnetic?

I've compared your coin with the one on the numista page: N#17677

If you check them side by side, the difference is very noticeable and not just because of the wear and tear of your specimen. The general lack of details of your coin, even on places where it can't be just from wear is quite considerable.

Just some of the more obvious problems:

Reverse:
- The left horn of the dragon is partially missing
- The number of the teeth is different
- The left hind leg of the dragon is much leaner
- That squigly line on the left front sholder of the dragon is completely missing
- The cogwheel pattern on the inner side of the edge is barely visible

Obverse:
- outer ring top right character is noticeably shorter
- outer ring bottom right char. The top stroke is merged with the rest of the character, but it should be separate
- outer ring bottom char. The box-shaped character is just merged together
- center left char, same, merged together
- center right char, that tick on the top end of the char looks different

TL;DR: Sorry, probably fake.

Welcome to numista.

Why didn't you give us the link to the coin page, since you already went there? Don't expect everybody to lose their time looking up a coin for you, it's not polite.
