What is your favorite theme for coin collection ?
This question relates to theme-based collectors.
for eg, ships, coat of arms, animals, birds, fish, monarchs, sports, geography, monuments, flora, celebrities, important events etc.
My favorite is sports.
Part of what I collect is coins tokens and medals with ships on them. Only sail and steam ships and only pre-1900 stuff.

I don't collect thematically, but I like coins with airplanes, ships, and lately also coins with two headed eagles.
Also war scenes coins, tanks etc :)
There's already plenty of Hadlee stamps, don't know why they haven't put out a coin yet.
I was disgusted with the match yesterday. My home team Otago scored 349/7 in a 50 over match and lost by 6 wickets, with an over and half to spare!! It's not often you see over 700 runs scored in a one day game.
Wouldn't it be nice to see a collaboration by the various mints to produce a set of four coins commemorating the great all rounders, Ian Botham, Kapil Dev, Imran Khan and Sir Richard. That would be a commemorative set I could live with.
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.

What about Sobers? I'd consider him the best allrounder of all time, with Jaques Kallis pushing his case for a place among the greats when he decides to retire.
Thanks Sujit, I have the first coin already but I will defintely be on the lookout for the second one.
Neil, Gary Sobers, Jaques Kallis and even Flintoff are great all rounders but there was a time in the 1980's when the 4 greats were all playing at the same time, I can't think of any other period where spectators were so blessed.
The greatest all rounder ever was an Englishman named C B Fry. He wasn't just a test cricketer (all rounder), he played football at international level, held the world record for the high jump, played rugby union and was later offered the throne of Albania but for inexplicable reasons they opted for some bloke called Zog instead.
In 1938 he was in Berlin trying to persuade the Nazi's, who he genuinely admired, to play Cricket. Ribbentrop turned him down but it's tempting to wonder how different history might have been if AH had listened to CB.
In later life, as is commonplace with men of genius, he became increasingly unstable. He was one of the most remarkable men ever to have lived.

And, according to his descendant, Stephen Fry, he could jump backwards onto a mantelpiece.

I like fishes and those old school German letters, this one is perfect example what I like, because there are both themes and fish looks really cool: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces6264.html
For ship lovers a few from my fleet ... to wet up some mouths
I collect coins and tokens which circulated in Africa from 18th century to 2000. I sell about 7000 illustrated world coins from http://www.avscoins.com.
Very nice love your second one and the 1/2 guilder from the dutch east indies. The second one the 1 Franc token from the Suez Canal is I believe quite valuable in this grade.

Actually, the last two coins of my lot are the cheaper ones. The prices for the first four were rather steep, since it's difficult to find these beauties, particularly in decent grades.

I collect animals: (domestic to big) cat coins from 1900, inc tokens with denomination and probes.
Some of them are pretty hard to find, like Ireland Republic 25 ECU or Mongolia 50 Tugrik 1998 or North Korea coins.
