Hi everyone. I need some help. A while ago I sent these coins to PCGS for grading and this was their response. What I want is for them to confirm if there is actually any damage. Here are pictures before and after grading the equipment. Please help. Thank you all.

The damage is corrosion (environmental damage) and is obvious mostly on the reverse which is why they put the reverse forward facing.

Did you tell them in the submission that you believe it was an error coin with an extra V after VDB?

At this point your PCGS result is only that you have a genuine 2023 Lincoln Cent with corrosion damage.

How did your other submissions turn out?

Thanks for reply.

Can I offer it for sale in this condition? I also have more than one coin, some of which are in good condition. Can I show it to you to see if it can be sold as well, or is it better to show it to you first, since I have more than one coin and their diagnosis is different? I tried contacting PCGS, but their response was to return it because they asked me to pay an additional fee. I sent the money and the result was the same as before. Nothing has changed except the label. Please reply. Thank you for your help.

Hi again regarding the previous topic, is it possible for me to submit them again to other sites to grade them? I submitted some of them to one of the sites and their response was that PCGS did not grade them.

Your options are these:

1. Sell the coin as it is (in the slab) and provide your extra photos showing what you believe is an error to prospecitve buyers.  However, because PCGS has certified only that you have a corroded 2023 Lincoln Cent, it is highly unlikely anyone will pay you anything significant.

2. Break open the slab and take the coin out and sell it.  This way you at least might be able to convince someone else that it has an error that makes it worth more than $0.01 .

3. Break open the slab and spend it.

I think anyone who submits coins to the graders learns about their coins.  Often the first submissions are disappointing because of optimism, and sometimes because of poor judgement.

Which leads to:

4.  Set the slabbed coin somewhere you will see it regularly to remind you of the lesson learned.

PCGS DID grade this!  It is UNC Details - Environmental Damage.  If you sumbmit it elsewhere, I think most experienced collectors here will tell you that you will double your financial losses on this coin.

My best advice is to read the option 4 in my previous post (I realize that post was not yet visible when you wrote yours).

Hello everyone, regarding the extra cent letter v, of course when sending it and filling in the information according to the cent and the required instructions. As for some coins that were not evaluated according to the grade evaluation, I sent you a copy of some coins and their response was the opposite of what it was. Before sending the coins to some sites for grade evaluation, one of these sites was the one that confirmed to me that these coins have the mint mark, and they encouraged me. Here is a copy of it for you. and I have more coin's same problem. and if you don't mind, I have to send   to you more

Maybe I am confused, but the PCGS image you posted is of a normal 1961-D:  https://www.pcgs.com/cert/51185741

So if this is your coin, it has been certified as a normal 1961-D, not an error coin.

According to the PCGS price guide, the value of a 1961-D Lincoln Cent MS63RD is $6 (I know yours is MS63RB, but I couldn't find a price for that, and as a general rule, median values of RD coins are higher than RB): https://www.pcgs.com/prices/detail/lincoln-cent-modern-1959-date/47/most-active/ms?specNo=2875&pn=1

Anyhow, if you are pleased with the result, that's the main thing!

Why are you posting pictures of a 1961D penny in a post about a 2023 penny?

Also, if this is the post you are referring to about the same 2023 coin, you already had it graded and were only questioning the “damage” grade and you got the same answer as you got in this post.
