diameter: 33 mm
material: copper (according to the seller)

Closest I could find: N#43173

The diameter might not match.

Always happy to assist in any way!

The seller is correct, made of copper -

but, it is silver coated. The reason -

to make a forgery of a Half Crown [33mm]

it's not a forgery is it?

I'd say this is the closest

N#27920

The original, cropped and colour changed

to then compare to the four portraits

1st

2nd

3rd

4th

Cannot be 1st - the II is not further round to the portrait top

Cannot be 3rd - the portrait is further away

The wreath at the top has three leaves on the 2nd and

two leaves on the 4th - but too hard to tell on the worn example.

Mostly likely is the 4th as the ribbon is shorter and facing the R letter.

is it a counterfeit or legit?

 How can it be legit?

A genuine coin is silver - this is copper.

A counterfeit plated in silver to deceive.

Will see what other members think.

is it a counterfeit or legit?

It appears to show portions of silvering on the obverse, and also is approximately same size as Charles II half crown, so I also would say it is a contemporary counterfeit. I would also venture to guess it is a metal detecting find. Often after centuries in the ground the side of the coin, button, etc that is facing toward the surface of the soil will have little to no trace of silver or gold gilding, while the opposite side will retain a good percentage of gilt.. Although, since we know it is not a real half crown, it still has some numismatic value as a counterfeit of the time, unlike modern fakes.
