Unknown Old European Coin #5 [solved]

6 posts • viewed 55 times

Hello all,

I have another coin from the lot I have had a tough time finding, looks to be more challenging but I think this forum is up to the task. Much of the coins I have are from Hungary in the 15th c. but this one is hard to determine based on the designs.

Here are the specs:

  • Bronze in appearance
  • Around 23mm in diameter
  • 1mm in thickness
  • Lettering is obscured but there is some that are legible but I am still not familiar with the script
  • 1.2g in weight

Hope to hear what this is!

Does not look anything like European, nor can any recognisable lettering be seen?!

Interested then to have pointed out what lettering can be seen -

apart from the giant numbers - a 2 on left and a 6 below in this rotated picture

That is absolutely brilliant! Had a feeling that was what it was!

Well done - that looks rather similar.
