I was just checking out coins on eBay and found a Jersey 1 pound. There is no date mentioned on the coin. So I searched for the same coin in Numista. I can't find it. There is no Jersey pound coin with 3rd portrait on Numista. Can someone explain? Is the coin suspicious or not updated yet on Numista? Sorry if the question is very silly.

As you know the wording in the sea below the ship says 'Resolute 1877'
and I too can only find (on here and elsewhere) those two above - the 2nd and 4th portrait.
So yes it is suspicious; probably a forgery, especially as there is no date.
The price of the coin is only 2.5USD. Do you think it is good price for an original coin? Also I asked the seller about the coin. Waiting for the reply now.

The way the inscription goes around the obverse looks wrong or perhaps the portrait looks too large. I would like to think an official mint would not release a design that looks so disordered.
It is possible it's a trial strike so it might be worth getting an opinion from the mint. But having said that I think it is likely a well made fake.
The funny thing is he also has the same coin for sale right now.
I have bought some cheap coins from that seller and he is a trustworthy person. He is away on some marriage so he will check the coin later. My guess is he mixed up the obverse and reverse of two different coins. He has already made one mistake while listing the coin. The heading says pound of Guernsey instead of Jersey. Then in the description he has written that the coin is from Jersey not Guernsey. SO maybe he did 2 mistakes.
Anyway I have already ordered the coins. Hope all will be well. Else I will start collecting fake coins.

Yes - I also think two different coins shown in the pictures - especially as one is at the edge of the holder and the other is in the middle. I thought once in a cardboard holder then the plastic window doesn't let the coin move much.
Secondly - the picture on the left shows staples, but they are not in the right picture.
I got both. I actually bought 4 coins from him. So got them. The Jersey coin is of 2006 (4th portrait of Elizabeth). Their face value is so high but size and metal composition is not up to the expectations. Anyway I am happy with them. Added 4 new coins of 4 new countries to my collection. Progressing slowly and steadily.

Now don't make me cry. I wish I could get foreign coins from circulation. My swap list would be a little more interesting that way. It would have been cool to get the coins of even Bangladesh. But no. That's not gonna happen.
