1974 Seychelles 5 rupee

7 posts
Hi all, can anyone tell me if the 1974 Seychelles 5 rupee coin is only available in silver or is it available in cupro-nickel also?
Do you mean KM# 20, that's a 10 rupee. I think I may be missing something here.
It is, what it is, or is it.
It's definitely 5 rupees Daryl, KM# 19 & KM# 19a.
 KM# 19 is only listed as 1972 whereas KM# 19a is listed as 1972 and 1974 and both are silver;
but what I want to know is there a KM# 19 dated 1974 ?
 I am not founding one. But not sure at all. Sorry I am not much help have to go now

Tony, I have checked my Krause DVD, Numismaster and NGC and they all list the same info that you have already found although, interestingly, they all seem to show an image of a 1974 Proof next to their listing for KM#19. I think that is probably just an error on the part of Krause which has been replicated by the others. What was your reason for asking - do you have a '74 that you think might be Cu-Ni?

Hi Rick cheers for your reply, I have just ordered a set from 1974 up to 5 rupee so was wondering if it's silver or cupro especially as the set was only £7. will let you know when it arrives as I was a little suspect at all the coins being from 1974.
Sounds like a good deal - was it a Proof set? Share some pics when you get it  :)
