It couldn't compare to the Western cars from that time, but the East-Germans usually didn't know better, so they were okay with it. I just love it, manly because of interest for the country it was produced in and I like the way it looks!

Good old Trabant is the thing which took you just about anywhere without any major costs. Plus, since it had very thin tyres, you could take over BMWs in the Alps in the winter.
Not to mention the fact, that even with an economic and linguistic degree I could fix any Trabi problems. It is a pity I don't have any anymore, but my son, would love to grab one!
It is going to cost him: EUR200 (empty tank); EUR300 (filled up tank)

The other problem with Trabi was that it was frequently eaten by animals as the chassis was made of compressed paper:

Colleague no 4x4 or erbbegs, boosters . Turbos and other cowsheds, a car that you glue with glue while waiting. Here they broadcast news from travels around the world for a year, traversed all continents.
Friends still drive this type of car on our roads. ( But I personally would take a Ford 150 I'm in love with him just platonic I can't afford it)
