From a book about the British 1924 expedition to Mt. Everest (Into the Silence, p. 486) "Between them they drove 10 mules laden only with money. The previous year, the Tibetian authorities had recalled all of the silver in the country, forcing the expedition to rely on copper currency, seventy-five thousand coins altogether."
