Help to identify "India - Portuguese" Coins

9 posts
Dear Friends,
Recently I bought up  2 "India - Portuguese" coins. I know that they are TANGA but don't know their exact year and value. I need the expert advice so please help me to identify them.

Coin 1 : weight =?  Diameter= 3 cm  Metal= Copper
Coin 2 : weight=?   Diameter = 3.7 cm   Metal = Copper

Many Thanks
Arvind, very difficult to tell witout weight but if you go through the Portuguese India coins on Numista... there are a couple of 1 tanga and 1/2 tanga coins with the same design..

Thanks josephjk. 2nd coin is either 1 tanga or 1/2 tanga, it's heavy coin with larger diameter. I am little bit confused about 1st coin as I didn't came through it on some numismatic websites I went through. There is AP and PR ( right side)  and something below AP written . It will really helpful if someone let me identify it.
Many Thanks
Yeah I could not find the second coin either Arvind... will continue to look
These coins were minted on coins of previous kings. Moreover, the dies were manufactured by Indians; they were not familiar with European characters. The result was not always the happiest and strange elements are normal in these coins.

The coin "1 Tanga", has the letters AP (Asia Portuguesa) over the letter "T" (Tanga). In the case of "1/2 Tanga", between the "AP" and the "T" there is the symbol "1/2" but very stylized and difficult to read: The "/" is almost horizontal and the "1" is messed with "/"; the "2" looks like some arab symbol.

In summary, I believe that this is "1 Tanga" and "1/2 Tanga" from King D.Miguel as identified above.

Thanks Monge for the answer but the question is still same about the identification of 1st coin . Any new update will be highly appreciated.
Many Thanks
One of the coins is so worn that their identification, is an act of faith. Rate them only as "Tanga" and "Half Tanga"

I have uploaded couple of more pics of 1st coin. As it is clear that 2nd coin is 1 Tanga. I am doing my search on 1st coin and didn't came through it on sites ( links of some given below). My conclusion is that this is unregistered coin hope that someone prove me wrong.

This image is better and the identification, even partial, is possible:
It is a countermarked Tanga with stamp "PR 809".
The countermark was affixed by the end of the reign of D.Miguel I (1831-1834) over coins from his own reign and over coins from previous kings.

The original coin was (two possibilities):
1-  "Half Tanga" D.Miguel...........https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces48868.html
2-  "One Tanga" D.Miguel............https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces48865.html
We can easily see the AP but we cannot see the "1/2". Therefore, we do not know if it is an Half or One Tanga.

By the end of his reign it was ordered to recoin the Half and One Tangas with the stamp "PR 809". From this stamp we only can the two characters PR:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces49005.html

It was also usual to hammer the "Half Tanga" to make it bigger and them put the stamp PR (an illegal extra profit).
