The coin shows a "royal looking" gentlement seated facing a harbour with sail ships. The reverse shows the French Coat of Arms. What seems strange to me is the coin states it is "MONETARIUM FRANCIA" dated 1657 (or 1653?), but the history books state Antigua was British at the time and did not pass to France until 1666?
Comments and explanations will be appreciated.

Photos would really be helpful, but from your description it sounds to be a token or medal.

Thanks for your reply but sorry, I am a new member and this is my 1st enquiry. How does one take a photo and post it on this site? Please bear in mind antique coins are an ideal pastime for a computer dinosoar like me and explanations using words no greater than one syllable would be appreciated.

I'm not an expert in any kind of coins, but I reckon I'm good at research and will do my best to help. Feel free to tell me my identifications/valuations/gradings are wrong. It's the only way I'll learn.
