About 30mm, might be copper or bronze. Weight about 12g.

Quality is too poor to identify sub-classifications, but here is one of mine to cross reference:

Byzantine Empire: Æ Anonymous Class A2 Follis, Attributed to Basil II & Constantine VII (Sear-1813, Sommer-40.2.7)

Obv: + EMMA NOVHΛ IC - XC; Bust of Christ facing, holding book of gospels, with nimbus. Cross on book of gospels; cross in each arm of gospel.
Rev: + IhSYS/ XRISTYS/ bASILEY/ bASILE; Legend in four lines.

Classified as Class A2-32 using Ornamentation Classification Table.

Thanks. I had initially thought it might be a Byzantine follis or similar, but the "A"s, if they are "A"s, appear much sharper at the top on the coin back than other Byzantines pictured in Numista .
