Currently focusing on the following in order of priority.
- GB Half Crowns and Florins from 1840-1940. (vf+)
- South African coinage from the shilling to the pond 1890-1950 (vf+, ef+ for post 1930)
- GB Crowns 1800-1934 (attractive f+)
- Other pre 1950 african coinage (vf+)
- WWF wildlife silver proof series 1974-1977 (unc)
- Maundy Coinage (ef+ - full sets only)
- I also collect pre1900 bronze/copper pennies in ef+ and rarer old commemorative coins. (pre 1930)
- I will NOT buy or swap modern coins, other than the sets listed above. (except silver at scrap value)
- I will generally not swap gold. There are exceptions, but if you are a stranger you are not one.
- I will swap silver, and do not always require silver in return. However I require coins of a roughly similar value that interest me.
- I currently have a lot of coins that I don't want. If you are interested, give me a poke and you can have them for free. They will not form part of my album.
- If you are in the UK and have a good quality coin cabinet, safe or both, I may trade coins for them.
I will buy scrap silver at £11/troy ounce including postage.
Carefull offering free coins, you might get more interest in that than you will for swapping ;)
Is it easy to acquire mundy sets in EF all the way back to 1750? That would be an impressive collection!
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

When I was first starting out, I bought a few big 'random unsorted' bulk lots of ebay, which turned out to be full of complete rubbish of course! So I have to get rid of them somehow
Hm, the Maundy sets I'd say is a 'moderate' challenge as I'm doing 1 per monarch, probably a lot easier than the half crown date run, but slow to do. The advantage of the maundy sets is they came in cases, so a lot of sets stayed uncirculated throughout their lives. So far I have Charles II (1670), Victoria (1832), and George V (1936). It's just a case of 'slow and steady' really, picking them up for nice prices when I can afford them over the next few years. Doing a full date run of them however, would be insane and very costly!
I picked up a nice uncirculated 1930 half crown on ebay for £3 today. Was pleased :)
Quote: "Dutchgalego"I WILL NOT SWAP WITH THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE A SINGLE COMPLETE SWAP.
....and I will not sell or buy anything neither. :)
I MAY SWAP ONCE YOU COMPLETE SOME SWAPS.
.... I forgot that I luckly have nothing of interest. :)
No offense taken. It's your prerogative ^^ I 'sort' of have a completed swap with Fluke though it won't register as a swap! I'm relatively selective about who I'll swap with though, and obviously will send first to established members.
I've just upgraded my 1882 shilling and I've got a few George VI ones coming, I'll let you know in a week or so. (my 1882 shilling is a decent grade, about F+ to VF but someone has tried to clean the toning off and done a crappy job of it)
Quote: "Fluke"I can confirm there was a swap of sorts which went smooth.
It wouldn't surprise me if swaps from here on out will be handled with caution after recent events.
Talking of that swap, my girlfriend hid my mail this morning to 'stop me playing with the stupid coins', but it made me so happy when I opened it! Thank you. I'm set on storage for a little while now
Now I just have to either find you more dirty diseased coins, or one of the type you actually collect.

That's a horrible cleaning job! I have quite a few of the old shillings spare, but ZacUK might get a couple. Let me know if there's a particular year or whatever to keep for you.
Hi Oggy, You have listed as required Shillings 1946 to date, I presume you mean 1946- 1970 if so I will more than likely have them all both English and Scottish.
regards

Yep I'll need those as I'm a completionist. I bought a large lot of modern British today so we'll see which I need after that.
Ps. I noticed you need a £1 piedfort coin. I don't have the exact date, but I have as 1997 one sort of available if you're interested. It's the one on the top right here.
That interests into an exchange:
Canada 25 cents Goldfinch
Possibly other Canada, Fiji, Niue, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Cook Island, Australia silver coin interests with a value negotiation. (aprox. 60-70 USD = Blue Jay)
Let European Union collectors write only. Thank you!
Anybody who'd like to participate in some group buy for silver proof commems at a decent price, please feel free to message me. Most are .999, but there are some .925's. Be mindful of postage costs if you're far far away.
