That looks like the large date.
In my experience, copper is more common than zinc, Philadelphia is more common than Denver, and large dates are more common than small dates.

I'd say its probably a large date, small dates are less common

I am discovering that UK and islands rare aren't really rare either... I feel like there is a massive bubble because of the Kew gardens half. All the islands, Guernsey, Jersey, Man, St Helena etc look at their relative lower mintages and thunk they should be as pricey...just surprised. I have been collecting for decades and my norm has been 3000 is scarce but 1500 is tough and mintages in the hundreds are rare. That has held until recently...

I gave away several BU sets of these last month so I hope they are not rare.

The easiest way is to look at the shape of the two. The large date has a straight line from top till bottom, the small date has a bowed line (as you can easily see in the link
SRV5490 provided).
So the coin in the first post is definitely a large date.

Yes Essor Prof the 2 is the key. But I have put together about 30 of these sets for friends kids for their penny books. And others. And have a jar full of just 1982's. Now all I have to do is look at the 8's and can tell. With this coming up again I think I will have to sort some out for my swap list.

Daryl, I still miss three of the 1982 coins: the bronze 1982 small date and the copper plated zinc 1982 small date and 1982D large date.

I think this 1982 penny belongs to a large date. Really nice looking piece.
