I found a 5 Para (KM# 169) on here that looks similar. The next coin after it (in KM order) on the Search page was a 20 Para (KM# 177). I see the  ١٠  symbol for 10 at the bottom of your second picture. So perhaps 10 Para KM# 173 (not on Numista) may be your coin, dated ١٢٢٣ or 1223.  :wiz:

P.S. The Numista page for that 5 Para coin shows the ٣٠  symbols for 30 (like yours has at the top of the first picture) for 1836 date. Hopefully your coin is 14mm like the link says.

I think where the dies have struck this thin planchet the 'ghost' image is actually the image on the other side showing through. Here's what my 5th edition 19th century Krause has:

(EGYPT) KM#173   10 PARA
0.3500g., Silver, 14mm. Obv: Denomination below toughra
Date                       VG   F   VF   XF
AH1223/29 (1835)   50 100 180 300
AH1223/30 (1836)   50 100 180 300
AH1223/31 (1837)   50 100 180 300
AH1223/32 (1838)   50 100 180 300

Nice coin! :)
