On the reverse of the coin 20 soldi 1796 from Kingdom of Sardinia (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces8128.html) there is the lettering "DUX·SABAUD· PRINC·PED*". Does someone know what it means?
I am interested in swapping world coins. Please let me know if you are interested too

​Those are a continuation of Victor Amadeus III's titles as displayed the obverse; "DUX" usually means Duke (of something), and "SABAUD" probably refers to Sabaudia, where the House of Savoy's ancestor Umberto was count of (even though it was a county, I know). Not sure what PRINC.PED means exactly.

No problem! And you're right on that, I did some more research and updated my answer below. :`

"DUX.SABAUD" probably refers to the Duchy of Sabaudia, where the House of Savoy's ancestor Umberto was count of, and "PRINC. PED" refers to the principality of Piedmont (Pedemontium in Latin).

Remember, this all comes as a continuation after his first dynastic title on the obverse (D.G. REX. SARD.), which means King of Sardinia by the Grace of God; all are dynastic possessions of the House of Savoy.

Sapaudia or Sabaudia refer to ancient French region were this family went...usually called Savoy.
In italian we use to say "casa Savoia" for the family...and "sabaudo" for something inherent to this family.
