Is this a large or small date? And which obverse? I've honestly looked through so many pictures and can't be sure! I'm correct in thinking it's 'Large Leaves' I think?
As to grade, what are your thoughts? (I'm thinking around AU50 from the coinsandcanada grading pages)
Again which obverse? (I'm thinking 4 here) And what grade? (my thoughts around MS65?)
Based on my 2019 edition of the Charlton Catalogue:
► 1891: I'm pretty sure it's C2, mostly based on the lower part of the chin. The leaves are large and you just need to compare the leaf righ below "91" in this and the 1892 coin. In the 1891 coin, the leaf is much closer to the beads. The date has a wide "9", so, large date. As for grading, I would say XF+.
► 1892: Yes, C4, again based on the lower part of the chin. There are points of wear on both the obverse (e.g. the squarish jewels in the crown) and reverse, so AU+ at best.
Both are very attractive coins with a nice patina!

Thanks for that! Neat trick with looking at the 9 to see if it was a large date.
Frankly the 'EF40' coins, look more like VF, and the AU like VF+/NEF so I took a look at ebay for some MS63's etc. Not sure if you were grading in a more European manner though.
(I have the same issue in grading my Weimar German coins)

I was looking at this page here for Canadian grading standards - http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-grading.php?grade=1-cent-1876-to-1901-Victoria&id=3

The varying quality of the pictures on the Coins and Canada site doesn't help. Yet I would say that two of their XF coins are in the VF+ range at best. As for the AU coins, I would say it's sound grading except for the second one which I would grade XF. I believe my grading of your coins is in line with that.
EDIT: I see you're in the UK, which would explain your grading. I am looking at it from the Canadian perspective. Your VF (for example) is a slightly higher grade than our VF. So, perhaps my grades in the Canadian system should be lowered by half a grade in the UK system.
