Oreshnikov, A. V. "Russian coins before 1547", Moscow, 1896. №686 (table XI, pic. 533)

The same dies were used for minting polushkas (half-dengas) of Vasiliy III Ivanovich. they can be differ by the form of the coins: polushkas of Vasiliy III were struck on thinner and longer pieces of wire, therefore they are more elongated, thinner and larger. Also the sharp edges where the coin
was cut from the silver wire are clearly visible. Coins of Ivan IV are more round, smaller and thicker. They are usually slightly oval or elongated as well, though the ends where the coins were cut from the silver wire are usually not very clear.
The nominal weight of the half-dengas from the reign of Vasily III was 0.19 grams, going down to about 0.17 grams during the reign of Ivan IV. The weight of the real coins may be lower, also because of a wear-and-tear.
